Israrullah Gandapur laid to rest

DERA ISMAIL KHAN Oct 18 (Online): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Law Minister Israrullah Gandapur had been laid to rest in his native town.
Earlier, his funeral prayer was held in the ground of Government College Kulachi.
KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak, provincial cabinet members, Aftab Ahmed Sherpao and other politicians attended the funeral.
A suicide bomb targeted Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Israrullah Gandapur, who was killed along with nine other people while 30 others were injured.
The attack reportedly took place when the minister was meeting visitors at his traditional village in Kulachi, which is located 45 kilometers from Dera Ismail Khan.
Gandapur had been elected during the May elections from PK-67 DI Khan-IV as an Independent but he later joined the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif condemned the suicide blast near the home of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Law Minister Sardar Israrullah Gandapur in Kolachi area of DI Khan on Wednesday, in which a number of persons were killed or injured.
In a statement, the Prime Minister condemned the suicide blast and expressed his deep sense of shock and grief over the loss of precious human lives.
He conveyed his sympathies to the families of the victims and prayed for the departed souls. The Prime Minister also directed the authorities concerned to ensure the provision of best medical care to the injured.
In a separate statement, President Mamnoon Hussain also condemned the bombing.
