ANF seize 6.2 tonnes of drugs, arrest 6 persons including a proclaimed offender

QUETTA Feb 2 (PPI): ANF captured mega consignments of drugs weighing 6.2 Ton including 1.77 Ton Amphetamine, 4.37 Ton Opium and 5 Kg Hashish, while arresting 6 persons including a proclaimed offender in 6 countrywide operations. The seized drugs valued Rs 9.7 Billion in International Market.

ANF Quetta while carrying out an intelligence based operation seized 1773 Kg Amphetamine and 4374 Kg Opium from District Noshki. According to details, drug consignments were concealed at an uninhabited site situated in the area of Waliband Sarlath, District Noshki. As per preliminary reports, the seized drug consignments were intended to be transported to some unidentified location after being handed over to another narcotics gang.

ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug peddler identified as Shoukat Hayat resident of Attock and recovered 1.5 Kg Hashish from his personal possession. He was arrested from Shakardar Chowk, Mohallah Noor, Basal Road, District Attock.

ANF Lahore arrested a drug peddler namely Javed alias Jaida Kungi resident of Sialkot and recovered 250 grams of Heroin from his possession. He was arrested from Punjab College Bus Stop, Wazirabad Road, Sialkot. Meanwhile, ANF Lahore arrested Abbasi Ali resident of Lahore, who was a Proclaimed Offender in narcotics case vide FIR No.75/2007 registered under CNSA 1997.

ANF Peshawar arrested a local peddler identified as Azid Awais resident of D.I Khan while he was driving Toyota Corolla car near Kolli Imam Eid-gaah, D.I Khan and recovered 1 Kg Hashish concealed beneath the driver seat of the car.

In another operation, ANF Peshawar arrested Shahzad and Zahoor Hussain residents of Peshawar while raiding near Zakuri Pull, Ring Road, Peshawar and recovered 2.4 Kg Hashish from their possession. As per reports, they were involved in drug peddling at local level.

All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are underway.
