CM opens solar tube well pilot project

QUETTA Feb 2 (PPI): Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has said that transfer of agri tube wells on solar energy is a revolutionary project which on one side would save huge amount given as subsidy on electricity for the agri tube wells and zamindars would also get continued supply of electricity which would also be cheap on the other and water could be used in a better way.
He expressed these views while inaugurating solar tube well pilot project here Thursday. He also inspected solar tube well.
Provincial ministers Dr Hamid Achakzai, Muhammad Khan Lehri, MPAs Dastgir Badini, Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, IG Police Ahsan Mahbub, Secretary Agriculture, Secretary Energy and concerned officers were also present.
Representative of Enercon Muhammad Yassir in a briefing told that this is first project of Morgan Solar Company in Balochistan. Under this project 51 megawatts f electricity would be generated and water would be taken out from a depth of about one thousand feet. He told that Morgan Solar Company provides cheap and lasting solar technology in the world and in case of any fault agri consumers can easily repair it. Due to tracking system solar tube well can also be operated and shut through mobile phone. He added that solar panels move with the direction of sun due to tracker system and thus energy continues to generate.
It is added here that Government of Balochistan and Enercon Kuwait have signed an agreement on transfer of agri tube wells on solar energy. Under the agreement 30 thousand agri tube well would be transferred on solar energy in tow years.
