9 tonnes of drugs seized, 13 including 4 women held

QUETTA Jan 31 (PPI): ANF seized mega quantity of narcotics weighing 9 Tons worth Rs 9 Billion in International Market. It conducted 11 operations across the country, while arresting 13 persons including 4 women involved in drug smuggling. Seized drugs comprised of 1.7 Tons Heroin, 7.1 Tons Opium and 219 Kg Hashish.
ANF Quetta in an intelligence based operation carried out at Qilla Abdullah seized 1728 Kg Heroin and 7142 Kg Opium. According to details, drug consignments were concealed at an uninhabited site situated at Killi Sur Taal, Badini, District Qilla Abdullah. As per initial reports, the drug consignments were placed at a cache site for handing over to another narcotics gang for further dispatch on receipt of safe signal.
ANF Lahore while intercepting a suspected Toyota Corolla car near MCB Bank, Mian Plaza, Johar Town, Lahore recovered 4 Kg Hashish concealed inside the car and arrested 3 persons on board identified as Rana Falak Sher, Muhammad Javed residents of Gujranwala and Atta Ullah Khan resident of Peshawar. In another operation by ANF Lahore, Muhammad Faisal and a lady accomplice Naseem Bibi, both residents of Lahore were arrested while travelling on a motorcycle near Gourmet Bakers, G-1 Market, Johar Town, Lahore along with 7 Kg Hashish. As per reports, they were involved in supply of drugs to local peddlers of the area. Yet in another operation, ANF Lahore arrested a local drug peddler named Saleem Khan resident of Bhakkar, recovering 1 Kg Hashish and 1 Kg Opium from his personal possession. He was arrested near Adda 214, Mankera, Bhakkar.
ANF Peshawar during search of a passenger bus near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar arrested 2 persons identified as Abdul Aziz and Mushood both residents of Khyber Agency and recovered 1 Kg Hashish. In another operation, ANF Peshawar arrested a lady drug carrier namely Rani Bibi resident of Bahawalpur, recovering 1 Kg Hashish from her personal possession. She was held near Zakuri Pull, GT Road, Peshawar while travelling in a passenger van. Yet in another operation, 2 ladies involved in drug trafficking namely Lewaday Bibi and Salma Bibi residents of Lahore were arrested by ANF Peshawar. They were travelling in passenger bus near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar. The operation resulted in recovery of 6 Kg Hashish.
ANF Karachi while acting upon a tip-off raided a site near Daewoo Bus Stand, Super Highway, Karachi and seized an abandoned bag containing 10.1 Kg Heroin. In another operation, ANF Karachi raided a premises situated in Qabli Bazar, Nazimabad No. 2, Karachi and seized 7 Kg Heroin, 19 Kg Hashish and 2 Kg Opium. An accused identified as Yar Muhammad resident of Karachi was also arrested during the operation. As per reports, the accused was involved in supply of drugs to local peddlers. Yet in another operation, ANF on pursuance of information apprehended an accused identified as Ghulam Azam resident of Jamshoro and recovered 11 Kg Hashish from his possession. He was arrested near PSO Petrol Pump, National Highway, Kotri, Jamshoro.
On pointation of the arrested accused, ANF Karachi raided a premises situated at Kachhi Abadi, Khada Colony, Kotri, Jamshoro and seized 169 Kg Hashish concealed inside the said premises. As per reports, the location was being used as drug den.
ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a UK destined parcel from courier service office and seized 130 gram Heroin concealed inside cooking items.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway.
