Sarfraz Bugti has said that supply of food and other relief goods was underway

QUETTA Jan 18 (PPI): Provincial Minister for Home and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Sarfraz Bugti has said that supply of food and other relief goods was underway to areas affected by snowfall by trucks. Despite lack of resources government was working in difficult situation. It has released Rupees 200 million for initial relief.

He was addressing a Press conference at PDMA Office here Wednesday.

Home Minister said leaves of PDMA have been cancelled. People suffered from difficulties due to snowfall. An regency was declared at PDMA in view of snowfall. He said six highways in three divisions have been cleared of snow. He said such a heavy snowfall occurred after 26 years. All the organizations have shown best performance.

He said initially government has released 200 million for relief. Interior Ministry has provided tow helicopters. Southern Command rescued people by helicopters in Harboi area of Kalat. Helicopters were engaged in rescuing stranded people and providing them assistance in Dasht area. Later rescue operation would be carried out in Killa Abdullah and Toba Achakzai.

Condemning statements of some political leaders he said institutions do not fail. Majeed Achakzai was made Chairman Public Accounts Committee and not for puling leg of Government and institutions. If he was not satisfied with performance then he should get separation from the government along with his party. He was not expected to make childish statements Bugti added.
