ANF foils bid to smuggle narcotics

ISLAMABAD, Sep 27 (APP): Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 15.6
kilograms opium and arrested three persons at Lahore.
According to ANF press release, ANF received an information
that a narcotics deal will be carried out by a gang at Lahore.
ANF deputed a team to keep a watch on the gang.
The team carried out discrete surveillance for two weeks.
Finally, the gang planned to exercise the narcotics deal at Batti Chowk,
near Ravi Bridge (GT Road), Lahore.
Acting on the information, ANF team carried out a raid at transaction-
point and seized a car with three persons and initially recovering 6 kgs opium.
The three arrested persons were Shamas Ul Amin resident of Swabi, Asif
resident of Swabi and Navid Ahmed resident of Gujranwala.
Later the detailed research of vehicle resulted in further recovery of
9.6 kgs opium concealed in secret cavities of the car.
In two other cases, ANF Lahore seized courier parcels and recovered
390 grams heroin.
In first case ANF seized a parcel containing 11 baby suits and recovered 90 grams heroin.
The consignment was booked by Muhammad Jamal Karim resident of Peshawar, and destined for Sunil, K 29, Bass Street, Derby DE 22, 3Bs Derbyhire, UK.
ANF Lahore also seized a parcel containing 10 Jackets and recovered 300 grams heroin.
The consignment was booked by Ghulam Hussain Shirazi resident of Chichoki Malian, PO Manupura, Distt Shekhupura and was destined for Ranjeet Singh resident of 65-69 Harrison Road, Le4-6bt, Leicestere Shire, UK.
Further investigations are under process and cases have been registered under CNS act by ANF Police Station Lahore.
