Boat ambulances started in rain-devastated areas

In order to provide emergency rescue services to the people of rain-hit areas, the Al-Khidmat Foundation started a boat ambulance service.

Al-Khidmat Foundation secretary general Dr Mushtaq Mangat said besides medical assistance through the boat ambulance service, cooked food is also being provided to the affected areas which would continue till the normalization of situation.

He said Shangla, Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Swat, Malakand Agency, Kohistan, Mansehra, Charsadda, Mardan, Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir and Diamer in Gligit are hardly hit by unprecedented torrential rains. He said Al-Khidmat volunteers have already been in field to help in rescue and relief activities.

He said previous day the said Al-Khidmat volunteers rescued safety a man who was stranded in Panjgora River area at Zawar Baba More, Timergara.
