10 killed, 30 injured as earth quake hits Balochistan

ISLAMABAD, Sept 24 (APP): At least ten people were killed and more
than 30 others injured in Dalbandin, Mashakhel and Awaran areas as a powerful earth quake of 7.8 magnitude hits different areas of Balochistan and Sindh , A private news channel reported on Tuesday.
According to Tv report,The earth quake occured at 4:31 pm, the
magnitude of the earth quake was 7.8 Dalbandin is the epicenter of the earth quake in Balochistan.
Cheif of Pakistan Meteorological department said that the first
after-shock recorded on the richter scale was 5.6 and 4.6 magnitude of the second after-shock felt in Balochistan.
District Police Officer(DPO) of Balochistan said 12 bodies were
recovered from Awaran area of Balochistan and many people were still trapped inside the debris of the collapsed building in Dalbandin,Mashakhel,Pasni.
He stated that several buildings, shops,mud compounds and houses
collapsed after strong earth quake and added that the death toll will rise further.
Rescue teams and police reached in the effected areas and shifted the
people to nearest hospital.Rescue work underway to recover the injured and trapped people inside the collapsed buildings in different areas.
According to DPO, More than 12 people were injured in Pasni,5 injured
in Dalbandin,12 injured in Awaran,and several other injured from Turbat in
Balochistan .
The duration of earth quake was two minutes,according to early reports
of Meteorological office.
