QMC seeks role of traders in making city clean, free of encroachments

QUETTA: A group of traders’ representatives called on the Mayor of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC), Dr. Kalimullah Khan and Deputy Mayor, Muhammad Younas Baloch here the other day.
Talking to the traders, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor said that Quetta is our city, so it is our collective responsibility to keep it clean.
They stressed that cooperation of the traders would be direly needed in this regard. Traders would have to work together with us to make Quetta an exemplary city, they maintained.
During the meeting, the proposals were sought from the traders, which were put forth by them to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
They assured to restore the fire station in Hazar Ganji.
It was mentioned that the campaign has been started against encroachments in the metropolis. The traders’ role is also vital in removing the encroachments, the Mayor mentioned further.
He urged the traders to remove encroachments voluntarily. Otherwise, action would be taken by the QMC, he warned.
Dr. Kalimullah on the occasion also stressed the need to ensure implementation on the building code.
