Says era of peace and prosperity on the horizon;
seeks role of intellectuals, writers & poets
in prevailing situation of the province

QUETTA: An Inter-lingual Mushaira (poetry session) was held as part of the Balochistan Sports Festival 2015 here at the Officers’ Club the other day.
The famous poet and writer, Abid Shah Abid presided over the poetry session while also attended it was by the Commander Southern Command, Lt. General Nasir Khan Janjua, besides the provincial Ministers Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani, Mir Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hassani, Members of the Provincial Assembly, Dr. Shama Ishaq Baloch and Ms. Yasmeen Lehri, Chief Secretary, Saifullah Chattha and others.
The poets who presented their kalam (poetry) in different languages of Urdu, Balochi, Brahvi, Pashto, Punjabi, Siraiki Persian on the occasion were: Ms. Samia Baloch, Irfanul Haq Saim, Bairum Ghouri, Abdul Qayum Baidar, Mohsin Changezi, Ali Baba Taj, Moshin Shakeel, Mumtaz Yousaf, Umar Gul Askar, Dr. Irfan Baig, Waheed Mehar and others.
The participants appreciated the poetry shared by the poets on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commander Southern Command said that he has great love and affection for the land of Balochistan.
The people of the province are very loving, patriotic and sociable, he maintained. He also said that the thinking of the people of Balochistan is changing.
The Commander Southern Command said that the era of disappointment is over and he is seeing the era of peace and prosperity in the province.
He said that although our country is facing numerous issues, but these have been brought down. The role of poets and writers is vital in the circumstances we are going through.
The manner it is being attempted to rotten the religion, there are enhanced responsibilities on shoulders of the religious leaders, he stressed.
Lt. General Nasir Janjua said that Pakistani is a lively nation, who has faced tough situation and challenges, but at the same time it has kept the life moving.
Referring the Mushaira, he said that the intellectuals, poets and writers are our asset, and we value them a lot.
Earlier, the MPAs Dr. Shama Ishaq Baloch and Ms. Yasmeen Lehri also addressed the gathering. They also appreciated participation and poetry of poets in the session.
They said that such constructive and positive activities play important role in formation of healthy society, so they must be organized providing people to show their talent.
