QUETTA: The General Secretary of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-Nazrayati), Maulana Mehmoodul Hasan Qasmi has demanded of the provincial authorities to take action against the public transporters not reducing the fares after marked reduction in prices of the petrol and petroleum prices in the country.
In a statement issued here, Maulana Qasmi regretfully pointed out that the federal government has reduced prices of the petrol and petroleum products, following which the transport fares have been reduced all over the country except the province.
He charged that the highest fares of transport are received by the transporters in Balochistan in the country, but no one has taken notice of the situation, and now when the prices of petrol and diesel have been reduced, it becomes essential for the transporters to reduce fares of the transport as well.
The JUI-N leader stressed that the transporters of all the routes should be made bound to reduce the fares of transport providing relief to the masses.
He also demanded to make the rickshaw drivers bound to charge low fares from the passengers.
