Achakzai for investigation of May 12 Karachi incident

ISLAMABAD Sep 18 (APP): Chairman of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Mahmood Khan Achakzai on Wednesday asked the government to investigate May 12 incident in Karachi.
Taking part in debate in the National Assembly, he said it is unfortunate that no government had investigated the May 12 incident.
On that fateful day, on one side people were being killed and on the other side in Islamabad the dictator was calling the violence use of power by people.
"I am ready to lodge an FIR of the incident and demand the authorities to hold investigations," he added.
He also criticized National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and said around 8300 criminals were released through this ordinance.
Achakzai said the government should respond effectively to allegations raised in other countries about their country.
He welcomed statement of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif that Pakistan wants cordial relations with all its neighbors.
He said after the independence of Pakistan no political leadership emerged which resulted in break up of the country.
He said provinces resources should be utilized for people of the respective province as it will help end sense of deprivation.
People should be given the right to directly elect their governor, he added.
Pakhtuns had rendered sacrifices for independence of Pakistan, he said adding the country is facing very critical situation and the nation should get united to steer the country through crisis.
Taking part in the debate, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad criticized the government policies and said no important decision related to security, energy crisis, inflation and revival of economy has been taken.
He said it is unfortunate that India is given MFN status on the directive of IMF.
