40 burnt alive as buses, truck collide

HUB Mar 22 (PPI): As many as forty people were burnt to death when two buses collided near Gaddani cross along RCD highway near here Saturday. Their bodies were charred and had become unrecognisable.
According to details A bus coming from Turbat to Karachi and another bus coming form Quetta collided with a truck at Bagar Nullah about 20 Km form Hub near Gaddani cross. As a result tow buses caught fire. Eye witnesses told that fire was result of drums of diesel and petrol loaded on the roof of buses. None of he passengers got an opportunity to leave the buses and were burnt inside. Their bodies had become unrecognizable and 40 passengers including women and children were burnt to death. About 28 others also received burn wounds.
On information Deputy Commissioner Lasbella Aamir Sultan, Assistant Commissioner Fawad Ghaffar, DPO Ahmed Nawaz Cheema, DSP Hub Zia Mandokhel, Incharge Edhi Trust Dr Abdul Hakeem Lasi, personnel of Police, levies, FC, Coast Guards, Pakistan Customs and Edhi volunteers reached the scene and started relief and rescue on emergency basis.Soem fo the dead and injured were brought to Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital Hub. Thirty five bodies were shifted to Karachi in a caravan of Edhi Ambulances. Deputy Director and medical Officers of Burns Ward told that death toll had touched a mark of 40. All bodies were charred and their identification was not possible they added. They said that some bodies were so badly burnt it was not possible to recognize them as male or female. These bodies were sent to Edhi cold storage. Samples of these bodies would be sent to Islamabad for DNA test for their identification.
