Federal, Sindh govt responsible for famine in Thar: Aitzaz Ahsan

ISLAMABAD Mar 18 (Online): Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and ex-president Supreme Court Bar Association, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan said on Tuesday that Federal and Sindh governments are responsible for the famine in Thar.

While talking to media outside Supreme Court Aitzaz Ahsan said that if the Federal and Sindh government had paid attention to district Thar, food shortage and famine-like situation would have been averted, adding there is still delay in provision of aid to the famine-affectees of Thar.

While replying to a question, Aitzaz Ahsan said that Pervez Musharraf has taken asylum in the military hospital and there are severe treason allegations under article 6. ‘I think ex-President Musharraf would appear before Court on 31 March’.

He said, ‘3 November act was his personal action if anyone else is involved then these persons be made public.

While commenting about F-8 Katchehry incident, he said there were more than 3 attackers involved in the attack.

The investigation of Katchehry attacks is being spoiled and an effort is being made to pardon banned Taliban for the attacks, he added.
