First polio case surfaces in Sindh

KARACHI, March 14 (Online): The first case of polio virus surfaced in Sindh in the ongoing year.
According to reports of private TV channel, Additional Health Secretary Sindh Masood Solangi on Friday said the polio virus was detected in a 2-year-old girl in Ittehad Town area of Baldia Town.
A portion of her body was affected due to the crippling disease.
Anti-polio officials also confirmed that the affected girl remain deprived of being vaccinated against polio in a campaign carried out in February.
They said another anti-polio drive will start in the last week of March.
