LAHORE, Feb 26 (Online): Senator of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Aitzaz Ahsan has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) took a U-turn regarding Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as their position was getting weak.
Speaking to media outside the Lahore High Court (LHC), Aitzaz Ahsan said that PTI had to change their stance on the Taliban issue as they were being isolated.
He further said that the pros and cons of the National Security Policy can be highlighted only when it is presented in the National Assembly.
Senator Aitzaz Ahsan, while commenting on Chaudhry Nisar’s invitation of cricket match to Taliban, said that the Federal Interior Minister should not have given such irresponsible statements.
“PTI Chairman Imran Khan plays cricketâ€, he added.
While commenting on the NATO supply line case, he added that the court gave decision against Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and PTI and the two parties should respect the court’s verdict.
He added that the government of PPP carried out a military offensive against militants in Swat in 2007 and took appropriate steps for the return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). He urged the present day government to follow the steps of PPP government and take necessary steps for the displaced persons.
