Peace in Balochistan manageable: Janjua

QUETTA, Feb 06 (APP): Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Nasser Khan
Janjua on Thursday said that achievement of peace and sustainable development in Balochistan was doable and manageable.
He said this while talking to media here in Headquarters Southern
Command Quetta cantonment. Commander SC while welcoming the media persons emphasized that media persons of Balochistan with their rich experience are the important stakeholders in the process that will lead to a stable and prosperous Balochistan.
He apprised media with the ongoing issues and the steps being undertaken
to overcome the problems in the province.
He noted that there are four parts of the province, which are hit by
insurgency and the extremism causing insecurity, difficulties in governance and ultimately mpinges upon the economy of Balochistan.
"While there are issues and challenges, the political leadership has
also taken number of initiatives to overcome the problems," he said and lauded the vision and the statesmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif who set the pace by taking correct political decision in formulation of Balochistan govt after the last general elections.
He expressed his full support to Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul
Malik who is a great hope for the province.
Gen Janjua stresses on the need of political process of reconciliation with angry Baloch leadership and the visible efforts to bring them back.
He also urged the Ulema to play their role to curb sectarian violence in the country.
On development projects, he appreciated the efforts of Federal Govt to initiate work on five major highways of the province including M-8 motorway which were recently inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
Economic infrastructure in the province and job opportunities to the people will certainly help eliminating crimes.
Gen Janjua said that all law enforcing agencies and intelligence agencies in the province are now on one page which will ensure better security to the people.
He added that Pakistan Army is enhancing the capacity of Balochistan Police by giving specialized training to them in Quetta Cantt.
He highlighted the visible improvement in civil-military relations which will help in devising effective joint strategy to combat the menace of terrorism and crimes in the country.
