Bannu blast toll mounts to 25 as three more expire

PESHAWAR, Jan 20 (INP): Death toll into Bannu bomb attack on Frontier Corps convoy mounted to 25 as three more injured of the incident expired on Monday.

It should be mentioned that 22 security personnel were martyred and over 30 others seriously injured when a massive explosion took place as an FC convoy was leaving for South Waziristan Agency (SWA) on Sunday.

Those injured in the incident where shifted to local hospital from where 15 with serious wounds were flown to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) where three breathed their last on Monday morning raising death toll to 25.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the explosives were planted in the cylinder of a private vehicle that was hired for transporting the supplies.

Meanwhile, funeral prayers of the martyred security personnel were offered in various cities of Khyber Patkhtunkhwa and Punjab and they were laid to rest at their hometowns with military honour.
