QUETTA Jan 2 (PPI): Pakistan faces 1.5 billion cubic feet gas shortage. Government was taking measures to resolve gas pressure issue and energy crisis through alternative resources.
This was stated by Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal while speaking to Newsmen after attending a briefing at CM Secretariat here Thursday.
Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch w as also present on the occasion.
He said solar energy plants would be installed in every district of Balochistan to overcome energy crisis. He said survey of 10 districts has been completed in this connection. He said government would install solar energy plants at subsidized rates.
To overcome gas crisis new reserves would be explored and repair of old wells was being carried out.
He said fir the first time 180 mmfc gas has been passed through pipeline coming to Quetta. He aid 25 mmcf gas would be available from Zarghoon gas plant.
Jam Kamal said gas pressure shortage would be overcome soon and team of Ministry of Petroleum would come to Quetta shortly.
Answering a question he said we are fully aware of severe cold in Quetta and gas pressure shortage. Government was doing well and soon people would be relieved of this problem.
He said federal government fully shares grief of people of Balochistan and has taken a serious notice of gas problem which would be resolved soon.
