Rawalpindi carnage’s accused deserve exemplary punishment: Shahbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (INP): Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that accused involved in Rawalpindi carnage deserve exemplary punishment to avoid such occurrences in future.
He stated this while speaking during a high level meeting held here on Wednesday to review the prevailing law and order situation and discussing the possible suggestion to maintain peace.
The meeting was attended by Punjab Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Raja Ishfaq Sarwar, Shujjah Khanzada, chief secretary Punjab and high police officials.
Shahbaz lauded the role of ulema of various sects for playing positive role in bringing the deteriorating law and order situation under control.
He said that any individual or group found guilty in Rawalpindi incident would not be spared at any cost as it not only gave rise to sectarian violence but also adversely hurt the soft image of country abroad.
The Chief Minister appealed all sections of society to play their role in maintaining interfaith harmony, environment of respect for others and promoting unity.
He said that future of country lies in following the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s three quotes i-e unity, faith and discipline.
