Balochistan govt extends police power to FC for two more months

Quetta, Nov. 21 (Online): After series of blasts in Quetta and Chaman on Thursday Balochistan government has given police power for two more months to Frontier Corps (FC).
Officials said the police power has been granted to FC owing to deteriorating law and order in the province.
The authorities concerned have issued a notification in this regard here on Thursday.
The government has given police power to FC under article 5 of the constitution.
According to the notification issued here, the FC will enjoy police power till January next year.
At least three people were killed and 18 others including security personnel were injured on Thursday in a powerful explosion on Sirki Road in Quetta.
Meanwhile, four people were injured in blast in Chaman a border town of Balochistan.
Earlier, one person killed and 7 other hurt in three series of blasts in Quetta city.
