Centre coordinating anti-Congo fever campaign with KP: Saira Afzal

ISLAMABAD, 25 Oct (Online): Minister of state for National Health Services, Saira Afzal Tarar has said that the federal government is fully coordinating anti-Congo fever campaign with KP.

Briefing Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services, convened by Senator Zafar Ali Shah, she said that cooperation of international donors like WHO and others was also being sought.

Chairman committee, Syed Zafar Ali Shah, cited numerous difficulties being faced by Sheikh Zayed and Jinnah Post Complex, including training for doctors, and with unanimous approval of committee members, recommended that such devolved institutions be reverted back to Federal government after approval of CCI (Council of Common Interests).

The committee was also informed about difficulties being faced by Provinces in handling such institutions after devolution under 18th amendment, with such glaring issues like lack of staff, doctors, ban on appointments etc.
