RMO Lyari hospital killed in ‘friendly firing’ in Karachi

Karachi, October 24 (Online): Residential Medical Officer of Lyari Hospital Abdul Ghani was shot dead on Thursday, officials said.

According to local police two rival militant groups were firing on each other at Lyari, restive area of Karachi, when a bullet hit Dr. Abdul Ghani.

Meanwhile, keeping its operation on against the outlaws in the port city, Rangers have once again raided residence of banned Lyari Aman Committee head Uzair Jan Baloch.

The raided was made during a house to house search in Lyari, the restive area of the economic hub of the country.

This was the third consecutive raid on the residence; however, Uzair was not found at his residence. A local court has repeatedly summoned the head of banned outfit, but he turned a deaf ear to the court’s order.

Rangers arrest another 29 criminals affiliated with gang war and political groups from various parts of the city.

The personnel also recovered weapons including hand grenades from possession of the arrested criminals while snap checking was also carried out in Lyari Expressway‚ Old Muzaffarabad Colony and Azam Basti areas.
