Conspiracies being hatched to halt talks with Taliban: Fazl

LAHORE, Oct 20 (Online): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that efforts are being made to sabotage the negotiations process with Taliban.
The JUI-F Chief was talking to newsmen in Lahore on Sunday‚ he said the government should take practical measures for talks with Taliban.
He said that negotiations with Taliban should not be held through media.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the killing of the provincial Minister in suicide attack reflects sensitivity of the situation.
He alleged that the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa's government has failed to protect the lives of the people and it appears that there is no government in the province at all.
Fazl called upon the federal government to implement the decision of all parties Conference to establish peace in the country.
He added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has rightly pointed out that hurdles are being created for talks to proceed. But positive thing is all stakeholders are ready for talks, he noted.
“The Pakistani government should hand over a list of its prisoners to Afghan government, which is ready to release Pakistani prisoners,†he demanded.
Moreover he said, “Afghan Taliban are fighting a war of independence. Afghan people should take their decision themselves.â€
