Eid-ul-Azha celebrated with religious fervor, zeal in Balochistan

QUETTA, Oct 16 (APP): The people of Balochistan celebrated Eid-ul-Azha
with religious fervor and traditional enthusiasm on Wednesday as hundreds of thousands of faithful slaughtered sacrificial animals following Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi (A.S.) to mark the festive occasion.
The followers offered Eid prayers in the morning in Eidgahs, mosques and
open places and sought mercy and guidance from Almighty Allah with remembrance of great sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.). Special prayers were also offered for the integrity and progress of the country and entire Ummah.
Eid congregations were held around 120 places including Eidgahs, Jamia
mosques, grounds and open places in the provincial capital, besides Eid prayer was also performed in all the districts and tehsils of the province where Ulema and Khateebs delivered special sermons and speeches to highlight significance of the day. They also greeted the people of the province on the festive occasion.
Underlining the significance of the day and highlighting its broader
meaning, the Ulema and Khateebs called upon the people to celebrate Eid with the spirit of sacrifice in line with the great sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) who did not hesitate even sacrificing his son to obey the command of the Almighty.
"The people should follow his footsteps and should not forget the poor,
widows and orphans on this merry occasion", they urged.
"The Muslims should renew their pledge to revive the Ummah's unity,
integrity and solidarity as witnessed during Hajj where Muslims from all corners of the world irrespective of their race and colour assemble around Kaba†, they said, adding that "Let us undertake on this jovial occasion that we will work day and night for the progress and prosperity of the country and the Islamic world".
They prayed to Allah for peace, progress and integrity of the country
and the Ummah and said that people should seek forgiveness and mercy from Almighty on this festive occasion.
Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Dr. Abdul
Malik Baloch and majority of the provincial cabinet members celebrated eid in their home towns.
Law enforcement agencies had made extra security measures at all
religious congregations including the main Eidgahs to ensure security of the believers.
Newspapers published special supplements on the jovial occasion
highlighting importance of the sacred day and philosophy of the great sacrifice. Besides, PTV Bolan, Radio Pakistan and other private television channels telecast special programmes on the auspicious occasion.
